Frequently Asked Questions

I typed my username and purchase code but the script says that the purchase code is invalid

To activate your license, the script requires you to insert your videohive username, the same that you use to login on videohive not the license name that you read on the invoice! and purchase code to validate the license. The username field is case sensitive, it means that if your Envato username is “JohnDoe” but you type “johndoe”, without respecting the characters capitalization, it will detect a wrong purchase code.

Where is my purchase code?

  1. Log into your Envato Market account.
  2. Hover the mouse over your username at the top of the screen.
  3. Click ‘Downloads’ from the drop-down menu.`
  4. Click ‘License certificate & purchase code’ (available as PDF or text file).

Here is an example of a PDF License certificate and purchase code:

What is the “deactivate license” script, and when should I use it?

Each license can be installed on 10 computers or 10 different After Effects version. The identification of the computer is through the hardware id (HWID) of the machine.

Examples:
  • You installed the script on 6 macs and 4 PCs, you can't install the script on a 11th machine, if you need to do it, you have to deactivate 1 license at least from one of the registered computers
  • You're working on a computer and you registered the script on 10 different versions of After Effects: you can't register the same license on a 11th After Effects version or on a new computer. To do that, you have to unregister 1 license at least.

With the Deactivate License Script you CANNOT deactivate the license from a computer to another because it only works on the computer you're currently working on.

When I try to register the product I receive the error: “Uncaught JavaScript exception”

This message could appear in three different cases:

      1. A firewall is set with a high protection level so it's blocking the script from accessing of the network to verify the purchase code. In this case, please temporarily disable your firewall or create a new rule on your firewall, allowing outcoming connections from Adobe After Effects. If you choose to disable the firewall, when the script has been run, you can enable your firewall again. If you disabled all firewalls but the problem persists, it means that your router has an internal firewall. Even then, you need to access to your router configuration page and change the firewall settings. To do that, open your browser and in the address bar type: http://192.168.1.1 Now find the firewall settings page and make the modification required to allow this connection. If you want to bypass your router or find out if the problem is router related, you could try to use your smartphone device as a hot spot through the mobile internet connection.
      2. If you're working in a company, generally this type of access management is assigned to a network administrator. In this case you need to ask for his/her support.
      3. You're behind a proxy or you're using a VPN: in this case you have to set the system to allow outcoming connections to port 80.
